Located in the Aravalli Hills about 40 km from Udaipur, Haldighati is one of Rajasthan's most historic battlefields. The region derives its name from the yellow-coloured soil that resembles turmeric (Haldi). Haldighati is forever remembered for the legendary Battle of Haldighati (1576 AD) fought between Maharana Pratap of Mewar and the Mughal army led by Man Singh I of Amber, symbolising the courage, sacrifice, and determination of Rajput warriors.
